C compiler


A stupid question but i have to ask it.
I know that Linux is primarely written in C but do all linux distros come
equiped with a C compiler?

and if so where is it located it at?

hi,
yes they do, but sometimes, if you need a certain version it could be that they have an older one.

It's the gcc command.

gcc yourfile.c -o execName

type man gcc for more info.

It's located in /usr/bin/gcc
you can use
which gcc to see where it is.
