BOOT problem

Hi there,
Im using Mandrake 10 and when im trying to boot from cdrom (knoppix etc) a strange thing happens. First, i ve change the boot sequence from the BIOS but when the pc starts it boots immediately lilo. So is there any way to add the cdrom in the lilo?
Code:
other=/dev/cdrom
        label="cdrom"
        table=/dev/cdrom
        read-only
Ofcourse this thing isnt working for this reason:

Code:
Fatal: open /dev/ide/host2/bus1/target0/lun0/disc: No such file or directory
Any suggestions?

/dev/cdrom is just a shortcut - the actual device name is /dev/hdc (or similar)

actually its a symlink
Code:
marioland dev]$ ls -al | grep cdrom
lr-xr-xr-x   1 root root      13 Mar 22 18:10 cdrom -> cdroms/cdrom0
lr-xr-xr-x   1 root root      13 Mar 22 18:10 cdrom0 -> cdroms/cdrom0
lr-xr-xr-x   1 root root      13 Mar 22 18:10 cdrom1 -> cdroms/cdrom1
drwxr-xr-x   1 root root       0 Dec 31  1969 cdroms/
didnt tried to put the "real" device but i dont think that this ll work
