Bloat-Free Browser

Hello,

I am looking for a small web browser for X. I don't want something as big as Firefox. I like Dillo, but would like something a little further along in development. Any suggestions?

You can install links with X support. Very small.

Galeon is pretty lightweight, you may need to track down some Gnome libraries if you aren't a Gnome user.

You do know that Dillo is in effect a GTK based links?

XavierP,
I have had a few times when both Galeon and Konqeror have refused to open an html page, they will only save it to the drive. It seems that both DE browsers do not like having no plugins or clientside scripting enabled.
[ the configuration that causes the above behaviour ]

JMJcoder,

unfortunately, most browsers are either bloatware or extremely limited like Dillo, links, elinks and lynx are.
I personally use Mozilla's Seamonkey for a gui browser, it's the next generation of the Mozilla suite browser that compares to Netscape. Seamonkey is both more capable than Firefox, yet has a smaller footprint in both hard drive and ram usage.
[ Seamonkey sources are 5 MB smaller than Firefox's, yet include 5 programs and several more features compared to Firefox's one program. ]

Didn't know that now seamonkey is lighter than firefox... I find firefox slow too .

On an imac ( g3 233 with 96 mega of ram ) i use often links2, no tabs and no "select and paste" unfortunatly but not so bad.
