bittorrent not working on ubuntu 8.10


hi,

i have installed bittorrent on ubuntu 8.10 but its not working. if i do "ps aux | grep bittorrent" its shows its running but when i try to run it it says to install it. i did "aptitude search bittorrent" it also shows its installed. its also nowhere on the menu list. any idea what could be wrong?

Hi

The package bittorrent is some command line tool. The description says:
bittorrent - Original BitTorent client - console tools

You better install a different client. Some good ones are:
transmission - standard with Gnome, fairly simple but works nicely.
bittornado-gui - simple client - doesn't use much resources.
ktorrent - if you use KDE (Kubuntu)
azureus/vuze - lots of features, uses Java so it takes a lot of resources.

tanx for reply, i do have the package "bittorrent-gui" installed, but its not working. i will try your suggestion and see what happens.
