best smtp/pop software?


i have currently a email server under windows.
but i want to setup a package on my linux machine.

i see that there a several aps for it.

the problem is i have not enough experiance with linux ,so i dont know what some theres are.

i sawe some packeges names als teapop, sendmail ,fetchmail exim.

so, what is what ?

have a look on www.postfix.org or www.qmailrocks.org
postfix and qmail are both SMTP servers. Most of the time you'll need a POP3 server also, but by reading a bit on these sites, you'll discover more about those...
