Best Linux distribution for commercial development
Hello all,
I got a job with a software house who are trying to support their software on a number of different platforms. They hired me on the strength of my C++ Linux development experience (Redhat 9, Debian) and as I'll be able to develop on my OS of choice I'm interested in developers opinions about the various flavours of Linux. I initally started with a debian distribution but moved to redhat as I had some difficulties migrating from windows to debian. I quite like the hat, I've been developing apps. and drivers using RedHat 9 for about two years now. I found rh very easy to install and its easy to use but its not without its limitations (at least rh9) so I might be in the market to change. I can only choose an os based on my own experience and as I've never used gentoo, suse etc I'm not sure what I'm missing. If any developers are willing to give me their opinions about a distribution of choice that'd be great.
Regards,
Chuckles
