Looking for opinions on running backups. I've got a win2k domain with a Fedora 4 server running Apache and MySQL. I've been copying a snapshot made with rsync to a shared folder on the win server (which has a tape drive). This seems to be working fine, but I'm curious to see if anybody knows of a better way.
I think you may find this article (and the second part to it), both written by the moderator trickykid here, very useful. They use rsync as well, but you may find his method very interesting. You might like to contact him for more information, as he has quite a lot of experience with backup administration.
