Autocad 2002

I have found some old threads with little to no information on what I am looking for.

I work for a small architecture firm (5 systems) and we are interested in switching to linux, but there is one critical app preventing us from doing so. Autocad.

I have heard sotries that it works a little on crossover office, some claim to have made it work on wine and winex, and then there is always vmware and win4lin.

I am wondering if anyone has experiance using or trying/failing/succeeding in working in autocard 2000 or newer in linux by any meathod. I am not finding any good autocvad alternatives (and I am no longer looking so please do not post any I am looking for experiance information not 300 posts withjt he same hyperlinks ;-))

Thank you.

AutoCad 2002 No Go

AutoCad 2000 and up do not work well with Linux. Not reliably and definitely not for a production environment.
Win4Lin doesn't give you enough ram (128 max) and VMWare is slow. Wine is quirky and causes many ACAD crashes.

I have dozens of users waiting for a powerful CAD package for Linux. AutoDesk is in the same position as Microsoft. They are what people are using, but users are beginning to look elsewhere.
