auto login doesnt work


im running fedora 7 x64 with kde and i cant get autologin to work

can any1 help me?

What have you done exactly?

sorry i dont have it in front of me but through one of the control centre type features it had a little gui which was called something like "autologin" and all you ahd to do is specify the username, tick a box and thats it, save and exit

no errors at all just doesnt do it. i have to log in manually as per normal.

try setting it in the GDM settings. In Gnome, I believe that's System-->Preferences-->Login Manager.. not too familiar with KDE, but I would assume that the Control Center settings actually affect KDM, which Fedora does not use by default.

do you have gdm install?
try the command su -c "gdmsetup" in a terminal and give it the root password
