auto backup

is there an easy way to have my MySQL databases and web pages automatically backed up (every day or 12 hours or whatever)?

(i'm using Fedora Core 4 with MySQL 4.1.12 & PHP 5.0.4)

TIA

you could add a task to your crontab that just "tar" your database files to another harddrive or something like this.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...5&pagenumber=2 have a look there, someone has wrote a simple shell script that does this for you. You will need to set up a cron task to do the backing up for you (mine backs up one of my databases at 9pm everynight). It is pretty basic however...
