Question ATI display card couldn't be drived?

The display card's driver problem has been troubling me since I installed RedHat 9.0.
My card's chip is ATI 9200Se whose drive doesn't exist in the system's driver list.
I have download a driver for ATI 9200Se--fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.8.i586.rpm. But I can't find it
in the list after I installed the rpm package.
By the way, I wonder what's the difference between i586 and i386, for other packages I have installed are based on i386.
Does that matter?

Thanks in advance!

can not help you much with the ATI drivers other then to say get a new card and stick with Nvidia.

if you are using XF86 as your X server, then you can modify the /etc/X11/XFree86-4 file and when you get to the part talking about your card change it from ati to radeon. you will need to be root to do so. RH9 does have support for the 9000 line of cards so pick the 9000 for the install and default, then you can go in and modify the above file.

as for i586 and i386 that is the archatecture of the hardware. i386 = pentium line, with the i586 being IIRC PIII class or better. if your system was installed using i386, then everything should stay with i386.

to find the rpm that is installed you can rpm -qa then the rpm name.
