are sblim-indication_helper & sblim-cmpi-syslog packages applicable to sfcb & pegasus

Hi,

I was searching CIM classes that can retrieve syslog information from linux machines that works quite similar to Win32_NTLogEventFile CIM class for windows.

In this search, I found that sblim-cmpi-syslog package that comes with sblim-Indication_Helper and sblim-cmpi-base would satisfy my requirement.

I have two linux machines in which one is having pegasus CIMOM and the other is having SFCB CIMOM.

Can i install sblim-cmpi-syslog package in both the machines?

I feel only sfcb will support this package, since its an implementation of sblim standards.

Please help me!!

Thanks in advance

are "sblim-cmpi-base" and "sblim-cmpi-syslog" packages specific to pegasus

I have installed Redhat linux 5.2 (without selecting Open pegasus during installation).

Instead I downloaded rpms for SFCB and installed it successfully. I confirmed the success installation by means of SFCB daemon service running.

My requirement- To access syslog information through SFCB CIMOM.

I found that the package "sblim-cmpi-syslog" could meet my requirement.

While installing "sblim-cmpi-base" (dependency of "sblim-cmpi-syslog"), i got an error stating "needed dependency - tog pegasus"

If i install pegasus to overcome this error and install sblim-cmpi-base then, is my requirement (accessing syslog information through SFCB CIMOM) achieved really?

Because satisfying sblim-cmpi-base package's dependency gets me to some other approach.

Am i going wrong anywhere?

Thanks in advance
