App can't find printer

Hi there.
This is a WINE issue, version 20040716, running under FC2, with no windows, printing over a network.
smb and CUPs is up and running everything fine, and when printing from notepad.exe from wine, all is fine. There is another app I'm running from wine that can't find the printer.
I'm new to the WINE stuff, and I am confounded. I've read over the printer section at the winehq documentation, but really can't make heads or tails out of whats going on, since other apps under wine have no problem printing.
When running it from the terminal, I get a line that says:

fixme:winspooleletePrinterDriverA ("","","TIFF-XChange"):stub
____________^that's a colon and "D" here, not a smile...but here's a smile...

Conversely, when I'm printing from notepad.exe, I get a line in the terminal that says something like, "can't find printer, your mama, something, blah, looking for default printer..."
and it finds it and prints.

Any wine-o's out there have any ideas? Any more info I need to provide, I gladly will.

Thanks in advance.

-m

EDIT*************
little more info here...I've also checked out frankscorner forums, and all thats said is to be sure CUPs is runnning.
When printing from other apps, the printer dialog shows its using wineps with CUPs.
The suspect app just pops up a window saying there is no default printer.
There is no printer set up dialog, and the app's documentation just says that it will use the printer set up by windows.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.
