Apollon problem...

Hello!

I've just installed Apollon 1.0.1
When i run it, it says that the giFT daemon installation is probably corrupted, and i'm asked to run it by myself by typing " giftd".

When I try to run it by myself it says :
"giftd: error while loading shared libraries: libgift.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

I looked for this library but the only thing I can find is a rpm package libgift.so.0.rpm.

I also installed gift-0.11.8.1, gift-openft-0.2.1.5, zlib-1.2.2.

I have no idea what I did wrong, and what shold I do to get it work properly.
Help me please.

Regards, nikon

I don't know what the standard slack gift package would actually install, it does seem odd if it's been subdividied into two halves, as it's all daemon really. do you have a libgift.so.0 on your system then? you might want to use "locate libgift", after a "updatedb" to see what's there. if it is there, runnign "ldconfig" might kick it into life. if all else fails, i'd suggest just installing gift from source.

OK it started working. I managed to connect to FastTrack only.
It seemed everything was ok, but when I started to download something it stopped on 99% ...
I tried 10 files more ( quite popular, 30-40 users had them) and each of them stops at 99% .... (it's written "request failed" near all the users I downloaded this file from).

any idea ?
please help me, that's the last thing I haven't get to work yet in order to delete my windows xp and change to linux permanently : P

Regards, nikon
