Apache issue?

Hi All

I have an Ubuntu 10.4 box running as a web server. I move a Joomla install from a cpanel account to the server using fpt and sql dump. Since moving I get an error emailed by ossec and this ties in with the webpage not showing, if you refresh the page it displays

"Web server 500 error code (Internal Error)."

If I do a fresh Joomla install it works without any error so why am I getting this issue with the restored site. I need to use the restored as don't have access to the installed template anymore

Thanks

you need to refer to the log files on the server to get more information. there's clearly nothing we can say about "internal error" with no more information. Have you verified each component is working, e.g. sql?

Ok so everything works fine ie mysql. The page won't load the first time you access it but after a refresh works fine. The only error showing in any log is below but don't give any clues

[04/May/2012:19:33:07 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 500 413 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0"
