you can always just schedule a shutdown... like so:
shutdown -h 2:00
that will shutdown the computer at 2 at night, assuming your clock is set right... time is entered in 24hr format.
...
or if you want it to shutdown in like 30 minutes
just do give it this:
shutdown -h +30
...
to cancel a running shutdown give it this:
shutdown -c
...
but i would wanna know about these intelligent shutdowns...
