another wine question

I recently installed wine onto my machine from the downloaded mandrake 8.2 disks. Whenever i try to install anything, the install shield bar goes up to 99% then stops. When i run it from a terminal, i get teh following:

err:mmsys:MMDRV_InitHardcoded You didn't setup properly the config file for the
Wine multimedia modules.
Will use the hard-coded setup, but this will disappear soon.
Please add a WinMM section to your Wine config file.
err:midi:OSS_MidiInit ioctl on midi info for device 0 failed.

what would i have to do to get this to work?
i am trying to convert 100% to linux, but have a long way to go and have much to learn. In other words, i'm just a noob. :-}
thanks much

For starters, try downloading the wine configuration script, and using it to create a full WINE config file. The script features a nice GUI, and is very eay to use. You can get it from www.winehq.com. Apparently your multimedia settings are messed up.

Also keep in mind that WINE is more like ALPHA software, so don't expect it to work 100% of the time.
