AmaroK vs XMMS

Why does AmaroK is so slow in searching song in playlist (15000+ songs)?
XMMS does this very fast!

Because they don't work the same way, or do the same thing.

If you are interested in trying to fix it, try to set up amarok to use another database to store song info. MySQL is a possibility, one that I have used myself in the past. MySQL is definitely faster than the standard LiteSQL, or whatever it is.

I've tried PostgreSQL. Seems to be it's easy to use than MySQL. Now amaroK is VERY fast=)
P.S. some tuning is needed for PostgreSQL in postgresql.conf:

try playing with this -

#work_mem = 50MB
#maintenance_work_mem = 90MB
#max_stack_depth = 70MB
