AmaroK system usage

Hi all,

I've got a little problem here with amaroK (KDE music player app)
For some reason it takes up to 59% of system resources when playing music (sometimes more). So, since I run Linux on my HP laptop, it keeps overheating!!! It never happened before. In fact, I have no idea what have changed.

So far I've tried to reinstall amaroK (older then newer version) = no effect
Switch to a different sound engine (Arts/Xine/Helix) = no effect
Reset/Reinstall Alsa sound server = no effect

I have run out of ideas here

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Thanks a lot in advance.

59 percent of cpu usage!!! That's the problem if it was the memory I wouldn't care as much.

According to KDE system guard:

Name----------------User%---------System%

amarokapp_________35%_________59%
arts______________1.75%_______0.25%

I don't understand why is it like that. The most bizare thing is that it's NOT allways like that!!! Just now, as I was typing this all back to normal!!!

amarokapp________0.25%________0.00%

Perhaps amarok is updating collection at the moment, it could cause high cpu usage.

Thanks for replying killy9999,
I thought about it as well, it certanly adds up to the load. But later I have noticed that system only goes into high temperature when MP3 is played So i figurednd this must be a problem with MP3 decoder. (By the way while XP was running on my laptop it kept overheating every 15 to 20 minuts and the fan noise was driving me nuts. But since I installed SUSE it's usually around 50C )
