Amarok shows error on startup

This might be related to my other problem with k3b. I'm running Suse 10.2 with Gnome. I have KDE also installed. I just installed Amarok with smart. All went well, until I tried to play it. It refused to open up and said "Error". I found this out with the terminal, trying to run "amarok":

kio (KMimeType): WARNING: KServiceType:ffers : servicetype Amarok/Plugin not found
kbuildsycoca running...
Reusing existing ksycoca
kio (KService*): WARNING: The desktop entry file /opt/gnome/share/applications/DefaultPlugins.desktop has Type=Link instead of "Application" or "Service"
kio (KService*): WARNING: Invalid Service : /opt/gnome/share/applications/DefaultPlugins.desktop

kio (KService*): WARNING: The desktop entry file /opt/gnome/share/applications/DefaultPlugins.desktop has Type=Link instead of "Application" or "Service"
kio (KService*): WARNING: Invalid Service : /opt/gnome/share/applications/DefaultPlugins.desktop

kio (KSycoca): ERROR: No database available!
Amarok: [Loader] Amarok is taking a long time to load! Perhaps something has gone wrong?
kbuildsycoca running...
linux-wwtz:~ # ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 20012, errno = 0

I already tried changing the file /DefaultPlugins.desktop in Type=Link, first to "Application" and later to "Service". Neither one worked. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I found out I can run Amarok as well as k3b from root, so, it's all a matter of permissions. Granting permission to <username> doesn't work. I have to grant permission to specific files. Which ones?. Help appreciated.

Well guys, problem solved! I had to grant permission to file /.ICEauthority and I did. Now k3b as well as Amarok work fine as user. Thanks anyway. I hope this helps someone in the future.
