amarok and mp3s

Now, I know amarok doesnt have supprt for mp3s out of the box. However, I have looked for the gstreamer0.8-mad package in adept in order to install it, all that comes up under gstreamer is shown as installed. However, I cannot find the -mad package, nor the akode-mpeg, only akode plugin which is already installed.

Hope you guys can help!

Elisa

Look at freshrpms, that's where I found the stuff. Also, remember that amarok lets you "pick" a sound engine, maybe you already have one that works.

Re: Kopete and proxy

Thanks. Should I look for freshrpms in adept then? BEcause if so, nothing comes up I have looked for the engine, I only have Engine GStreamer. Below that though, it asks me for output plugin, and I can choose between alsasink, osssink, afsink, gconfaudiosink, nassink.

Is there anything I can do?

Right, that's exactly what I meant. OK, I will back out, and let some of the Ubuntu people help you with this. GOOD LUCK!

HI thanks! I get the gstreamer packages now in adept, but the problem is (as I say here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=443826) that I cannot install it because it gives me an error message.

Let me know if you have any suggestion in the above post

thanks anyway
Elisa
