Adding ./configure options to an already installed RPM

Currently I have a webserver running on Red Hat 9 with Apache 2.040 and PHP 4.2.2. I'm planning to install Freetds to connect to a Sybase database and now need to add Freetds to PHP. What's the easiest way to do this? I know it's pretty easy to reinstall PHP from source and add the option to ./configure, but I want to stick with RPM files for this. I don't want to change anything I don't have to on the server since everything currently configured works great. Thanks.

I don't think that's possible ... but you can compile from
source and roll your own RPM (easiest way: use
checkinstall) ...

To roll my own rpm I first install the source, then edit the .spec file to add my options, and run "rpmbuild -bb php.spec" correct?

Heh - I don't use an rpm-based distro. I know
it can be done, and I know that checkinstall
rolls PRMs because it offers me the option.

Tink
