Add an outgoing mail Account to kmail

Hi,

I have configured kmail to download my email from several email accounts, 5 accounts. I also have only one default "send" account, which I use to send all my outgoing emails. They are all gmail accounts.

I also could configure kmail to receive my emails from the imap server of my work. I want to add another outgoing account so I can use it to send emails from my work account. That is: I want to have another outgoing account (IMAP) besides my default one (SMTP).
I have googled about this, but I could find nothing.

Help will be appreciated,

Noha

IMAP is for email retrieval NOT sending. You need to add another (your work) SMTP account and choose whichever account you want to use when sending an email.

Thanks for the reply,

I have tried to do that using the smtp protocol, yet I could not use the new send account to send a testing email.
The port I used was the default 25, are there specific steps to follow?

thanks,
Noha

Does your work allow you to connect to their mail server and relay mail from outside. Or are you on a VPN or tunnel?

Do you need to authenticate?
