AcidRip Gtk2.pm error

I installed Acidrip via slapt-apt -install acidrip-0.14-i486-2asz
I also have lsdvd installed (lsdvd-0.16-i486-1kjz)
I have Perl v5.8.8 installed

When I try to run acidrip I get the following error

Quote:
an't locate Gtk2.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr /lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /u sr/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/AcidRip/interface.pm line 1.

Compilation failed in require at /usr/bin/acidrip line 14.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/acidrip line 14.
If I type lsdvd I get

Quote:
Can't open main ifo!

I believe I have the other requirements fullfilled. So Im assuming the problems is that the version of acidrip I have doesnt like the version of perl I have? If this is correct what version play well with each other?

thanks!

j

This tutorial explains how to install Acidrip from source. It also gives a good list of the dependencies. One of them is Gtk (and a variety of modules).

I would always recommend installing from source.

Thanks for the reply Xavier
I had read through that tutorial and got the same errors so thats when I decided to use slapt-get to install acidrop and lsdvd

I removed those 2 packages and installed them manually, I get the same errors when I install acidrip and lsdvd by source.

You simply don't have Gtk2 installed according to the error. Not a Perl problem or acidrip problem. If you follow the tutorial step by step, should work without problems.

And you only need these packages in order to get Gtk2 working: ExtUtils-Depends-0.104.tar.gz, ExtUtils-PkgConfig-1.02.tar.gz, Glib-1.021.tar.gz, and then Gtk2-1.023.tar.gz
