Accidentally moved mail with Mutt please help

I installed Mutt on my Ubuntu and i set it up to pick my mail from my work E-Mail account.Which is IMAPS i was able to receive e-mail but the every time I try to close the Mutt it asks me to move my mail to mbox folder i was saying no but accidentally i pressed yes and i dont see my mail in the inbox when i try to open the E-mail with Mozilla Thunderbird how do i move back my mail to the inbox folder.

I was able to locate the mbox folder in the mutt and i was able to see my mail there but when i mark all the messages with T".*" in the mutt and i try to move them with ";" "s" it asks to which folder do i want to move them i try inbox it wants to create it.

How do i find what the path to my inbox is or if there is another way i can retreive back my mail in the inbox so i can open it with Mozilla Thunderbird.

Apparently im new to linux so plese help

by default, mutt would read from /var/spool/mail/$user
try copying the mail back to there.

this is not a folder, but a flat file.

Code:
echo $MAIL
holds the default mail location
