Hi amani,

Will it draw all packages without asking a question? I'm quite satisfied with the command line operation. I'll try your advice on another VM (guest). This box is a virtual machine. I can clone many VM.

Report this thread to be moved to e.g. the 'Software Forum'.
( The 'General Forum' is for things not related to Linux, *nix.)

Hi knudfl,

Where shall make such a request to move this thread? I think it will be better to create a "Statistics" forum.

Hi amani,

Whether you meant R Commander as per screen shot attached?

Hi,

$ sudo R
> install.packages()

select Mirror. But I couldn't find littler/Littler on the package list there.

On Ubuntu terminal

$ apt-cache policy littler
Code:
littler:
  Installed: 0.1.3-1
  Candidate: 0.1.3-1
  Version table:
 *** 0.1.3-1 0
        500 http://hk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
This package has been installed already.

The preferred install method should be :
'apt-get install' or Synaptic : Makes a more consistent system.
And the packages can be automatically updated.

All Ubuntu "R" is in section 'Math', I guess :
http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/math/

Packages not found at Ubuntu : The R command can be used.

And also : some R ( like R-RandomFields ) are only available as source code :
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...issing-823501/
..

The packages;
littler and r-cran-rcmdr
found on Ubuntu repo.

But they (littler/rcmdr) can't be found on R mirror.
