A strange problem about mplayer 1 pre7


Today I installed mplayer 1 pre7, and it can play rmvb files. But it cannot play network video.
mplayer mms://***.***.***.*** do not work, it can't display anything, who can tell me why?

Linux RTC init error in ioctl (rtc_irqp_set 1024): Permission denied
Try adding "echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq" to your systemstartup scripts.

Did you install all the codecs, and did you install them before you compiled mplayer, and did you point the install to the codecs?
mms:// would be a .wmv or .wma I would think. You need the win32 codecs to play them.
