a bootdisk with sata support??

Hi everyone,

have a very nice weekend.

What I have in mind is the following:

A linux bootdisk with sata-support.
Making a bootdisk by myself seems to be too complex (or do you have a good howto?) so does anyone know where I can download one??

Thanks!

xomic

I'm not sure i follow

What type of book disk?

Any Linux install or LiveCD disk now has full sata support

Mandriva Ubunutu OpenSuse LiveCD and Install CD's will find your sata drives

Well---ALMOST any..
I tried Freespire not long ago and was surprised that it would not install on either SATA or SCSI

what I mean is
a floppy disk with a minimal linux on it (but with sata-support).
I don't mean a specific distro-boot-disk.

I want to put it in, start the computer and let it boot until i can login - even better with an autologin...

It don't has to be a finshed solution - a good howto would be nice as well...

(just like the old-style dos-boot-disks)

Floppy Boot Disk with SATA Support ! !

I found this thread because I need/want/would like to have the same (or similar) thing.

A 3 1/2" bootable floppy disk which will allow access to my SATA driver in order to perform basic operations such as file/folder deletion.

My situation is that I have a folder (that is several sub-folders deep) that is completely inaccessable to me in any form of XP, to include Safe Mode, Command Line Safe Mode and a Bart's PE bootable CD.

I cannot do anything with these folders, most particularly delete them. Rather than going the whole route and reinstalling Ubuntu, I am wondering if there isn't some small and basically functional Linux floppy that could kill these files for me.

Should I start a new thread ? I don't want to hijack this one, but we seem to want the same thing.

Any help appreciated and Thanks in advance,

Johnny
