I have two identical (in theory) Ubuntu 12.04 servers.
Both have Mysql and phpmyadmin installed. When I log into phpmyadmin on the second server I get this error message :

I did not do any special configuration on the first server so I am perplexed as to why the second server throws out this message.
I do know there are " how to's " out there to fix this, but am still left wondering why.
It would be ideal to know what I did right on the first server, and not on the second.
Perhaps someone has had a similar experience ?
