Hello,
I have a samba share that Win 7 can mount but no permission to write.
I have been researching this and have tried everything I can find. I have a linux server CentOS 6.5, I have installed samba 3.6.9
My fstab looks like
Quote:
UUID=46cf...4bc /data ext4 defaults 1 2
|
My smb.conf file looks like
Quote:
workgroup = WORKGROUP
server string = samba server version %v
netbios name = fileshare
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 50
security = user
passdb backend = tdbsam
[data]
comment = fileshare data dir
path = /data
browseable = yes
fead only = no
inherit acls = yes
inherit permissions = yes
create mask = 744
valid users = @smbusers
force group = solr
writeable = yes
|
Note I have also tried valid users = solr
in my smbusers file
I have the user solr in my /etc/passwd file
I have run the command
smbpasswd -a solr
smbpasswd and passwd in OS passwd match
in group I have
the /data dir is owned by the user solr and the group solr and I have set permissions to 777
from the windows box if I map a drive to \\fileshare\data using the user of fileshare\solr and it's password the drive maps and I can see everything, I just can't write to the share or modify, just browse.
If I look at permissions from the windows side it even says the owner is linux user fileshare\solr
I'm at a loss. I have another system that works just fine. I'm sure I've compared everything I can think of between the two and don't see a difference
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you
