Mount samba share at boot with user write permissions

Hello,

I have Slackware current set to mount all samba shares at boot (mount -a -t smbfs). One mounts in my home directory, which I want to be able to write to as my user. However, I can only write to it as root. How can I make it r/w for the user?

Use the "uid=" mount option. You can use a username is well instead of a uid number.
It may be better to use the noauto option in you fstab and mount it latter manually. That way the boot process won't hang if the target share is missing.

The default permission set for smbmount is probably 755. You need to options to change the permissions used by smbmount: -o dmask=775,fmask=664

This will mount it writable by the group as well as user. Change the permission mask to 777/666 to allow the world to write to the share.
