What FTP do I have?

When I installed CentOS v5, I declined the FTP server that cane with it because I have used and prefer ProFTPd.

Now I'm not so sure what's running.

How do I check what FTP is installed and / or running?

ALSO

there seem to be TWO ProFTPd conf files, one at:

/etc/proftpd.conf

AND

/usr/local/etc/proftpd.conf

They have different content. Which is the one that is being used?

have a try to
Code:
telnet <your_ip> 21
You have a chance to see the name and version of your FTP server :-) On the other hand, it's not guaranteed.

Through the methods above, I've determined where my proftpd.conf file is (/usr/local/sbin/proftpd).

I found the config file like so: # /usr/local/sbin/proftpd -V

I edited it to change the default port to something other than 21. As well, I removed the section that allowed anon ftp connections.

BUT, after restarting proftpd, I'm still getting a good connection at port 21.

As well, if in a browser I navigate to ftp://my-domain.com, I get a dir listing of pub/ and uploads/

An I doing something wrong?
