vsftpd


i've configured vsftpd, and with command prompt i can connect ok, but when i try to connect with internet browser i get Premissions denied..somebody help me

Sounds like you've got an error somewhere. You don't say anything about what version of linux or vsftp you're using, or if you've checked any of the log files, so it's hard to help you.

What browser are you using? What platform is the client?

i have RHES4 , and the vsftpd is vsftpd-1.2.1-5.i386, i tryed with two browsers but the same, with IE, and with Mozilla..

You could have some issues with "passive" and/or "active" mode in ftp. This can be due to firewall or due to the simple idea that the broswers ask in one way and the ftp allows the other way.

Check this with some applications like filezilla.

connecting in ftp with filezilla is ok, i can connect but only with internet browser no..

i've disabled the login_anonymus , i set it to NO, and the same its again, can you write youre email to me and connect you try to fix the problem..

Did you tried this?
ftp://username@domain.com
or
ftp://username@ip_server

Most bowsers log in anonymous by default

i tryed and this, but it getting contencts of folder, but after few seconds: AN ERROR OCCURRED OPENING THAT FOLDER ON THE FTP SERVER.MAKE SURE YOU AVE PREMISSION TO ACCESS THAT FOLDER.

DETAILS:
THE SERVER NAME OR ADDRESS COULD NOT BE RESOLVED.

i mean the connection made successfully but the FTp Folder error comes up after few seconds..

Client couldn't find the server. Is vsftpd running?

...and if so, are you using the correct address (hostname or ip)?

what do you see in the logfiles when you connect ?

tail -f /var/log/vsftpd.log

it doesnt exist vsftpd.log in /var/log/ ,
in /var/log/ doesnt exsist nothing about vsftpd..

perhaps the file is located on another location in redhat

I don't think it is a good dea to give strangers root access :-)

Are you connecting via the router or from the server?
eq ftp//127.0.0.1

could you post your conf filei?
make sure
local_enable=yes

Did you find the logfile?
Perhaps you can reinstall vsftpd,
