Users cannot add VMs in VMware server console on CentOS host

Dear all,

I am trying to allow users to have console access to one of the virtual machines on the VMware server. The host is CentOS 4.6 x84_64 and I am running vmware-server 1.0.4 (GSX? not ESX). I connect to the vmware server using the server console from Windoze and provide the root login to do so.

I've tried posting other issues on the VMware community forums, but haven't had a lot of luck there.

Any advice appreciated,

- Dominic

Not to dank myself here,

But the couple of posts I've see so far suggest to either comment out a couple lines from one of the stock perl library/files:

Or to install 32b Perl:

http://communities.vmware.com/message/529661

The former option does seem like a good idea to me. The latter, I'm at a loss. I would normally do "yum install blah.i386" if I needed the 32b version of something, but there is no "perl.i386" package available in my current setup, so if I'm going to do that, then I need help. Can I even install x86_64 and i386 perl side-by-side, or is that nuts?

TIA
