Hi all,
I have installed SVN, created a repository, checked in my code, checked it out again and checked it out to my web application directory. All good. I did all this as root.
Then I used chown to change the ownership of the entire application to a user and group I setup for the task. I also did a recursive chmod to the same directories to make that group have permission to read and write.
So far, so good.
Then I created a user in that group and tried to 'svn up':
Code:
[svnuser@drupaler repo]$ svn up
root@drupaler.co.uk's password:
It insists I login as root. So I tried this:
Code:
[svnuser@drupaler repo]$ svn up --username svnuser
root@drupaler.co.uk's password:
Still insisting on root. No key-stroke I do seems to release it and permit me to enter a different username. Of course, if I enter the root password all is fine - but equally obviously I don't want to have my users do that!
I'm sure this is something really dumb and simple, but it's driving me nuts! Any pointers?

Ps - it's CentOS if that helps...
