Hi, i m a total newbie with regards to linux. I have just installed Red Hat Linux 7. Now my problem is that when i try to login as root, i get error: incorrect login! I give the ID:root and pasword as i had made, but it is not working! But when i login with ordinary user id, it works... So how can i get back my root login??

Are you living in a time warp or something? RH7 must be five years old. You really ought to install something more recent.

Anyway, it sounds like your root password is incorrect, maybe you didn't type what you thought you did during the install (are you using a different keymap?). There's a simple solution however, just append 'init=/bin/sh' to the command line at the boot prompt and reset the root password. You don't even need to reboot afterwards, you can just do 'exec /sbin/init' to continue the boot process.
