squid config


i have compiled squid source squid-3.0.STABLE17 getting below error

WARNING: Cannot write log file: /usr/local/squid/var/logs/cache.log
/usr/local/squid/var/logs/cache.log: Permission denied
messages will be sent to 'stderr'.

well that's not an error is it? It's a warning. Check the permissions on those directories, and the user you are trying to run squid as.

and you might was to configure squid to store the log files in somewhere more usual - such as /var/log.
