I run the command and below are the output. Am I access the wrong path and run the command ?

root@infra:~# /path/to/clamd -V
-bash: /path/to/clamd: No such file or directory
root@infra:~# /path/to/clamsd -v
-bash: /path/to/clamsd: No such file or directory
root@infra:~# locate clamd
/usr/local/clam/bin/clamdscan
/usr/local/clam/sbin/clamd
/usr/local/clam/man/man1/clamdscan.1
/usr/local/clam/man/man8/clamd.8
/var/amavis/clamd
root@infra:~# cd /usr/local/clam/bin
root@infra:/usr/local/clam/bin# cd clamdscan
-bash: cd: clamdscan: Not a directory
root@infra:/usr/local/clam/bin# ls
clamav-config* clamdscan* clamscan* freshclam* sigtool*
root@infra:/usr/local/clam/bin# clamd -V
-bash: clamd: command not found

When I told you to run /path/to/clamd, I meant to replace /path/to with the actual path to the command. Anyway the correct command is:

/usr/local/clam/sbin/clamd -V
If you want to run the command from inside the /usr/local/clam/sbin directory then you should run:

./clamd -V

Thanks..
I have run the command and the version that i'm using now is ClamAv version 0.75.

That's a pretty old version, so it's pretty normal it cannot update the virus definitions. You can check if that's the case running freshclam manually:

/usr/local/clam/bin/freshclam
and see if it reports any errors.

You are definitely right. I need to update clamav and my current functionality level is 2.

root@infra:/usr/local/clam/bin# ./freshclam
