How to filter postfix with spamd

I have an FC2 install on which my mailserver is running. Apperently spammers were just waiting to send me email (at an address I had pre server crash) so I'm getting spam to my mail server.

I already have spamd starting up with init.d.

I've loosely followed the HOWTO here in attempt to get postfix to filter all mail through spamd/spamc. However postfix logs showed a bounce on the relay to the filter stating permission denied to the sh script (spamc.sh).

I've read numerous pages which seem to want to couple spamassassin with other things. Right now, I'd just like to get SpamAssassin working with my Postfix, and have it delete/reject obvious stuff such as ALL incoming email with file attachments of .exe or .pif , etc.

Plese assist me as to what I must do to get this roling.

Thank you.

If you're getting a permission denied error, then obviously the permissions are wrong on that script. It will need to have execute permissions (x) for whatever user Postfix is running as. It's possible that the script was created or copied without execute permissions for anyone at all.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not that badly off.

I chowned root:root, and chmoded 771

Could there be something else?
