Question SME Server 8.0 / Firewall / Router

Hi All,

After so many years without using Linux I finally decided to install a Linux Firewall Router at home. And I truly am struggling to configure the server to work.
Here is how I would like my network to be designed:

Internet > ISP Router > SME Server Firewall > Subnetwork (with data + media) {includes: 1 Ubuntu Laptop + Mac Mini +Apple TV + Sharemedia wireless HD}

Here are the specifics of my ip addresses so far

ISP Router = 192.168.0.1
SME Server Firewall = I guess it should be on the same ? so I have give him this IP 192.168.0.17 (has 2 ethernet cards)
The "Subnetwork" should get their local IP addresses from the SME Server via DHCP.

I have the following issues right now:

One of my 2 ethernet cards doesn't seem to be working, I have read the Documentation of the server, but I didn't manage to understand how to get my subnetwork to have internet. The server itself even if he is directly connected to the ISP router doesn't find internet.

When I open in ELinks the Server Manager I can see the following in the Local Networks:
2 networks:

192.168.0.0 - Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 - No Router (I guess the problem comes from here)
192.168.1.0 - Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 - Router 192.168.0.17

Can someone help me out to configure this server firewall router please ? Or at least give me a (very) specific tutorial to get to my final aim ? Having a firewall server router that allows me to enjoy normally internet (I have a World of Warcraft player at home) that secures any undesirable connections.

Thank you very much for your help.

Francesco.

Without knowing the hardware details of the ISP router... I would see if it could be configured as a bridge. This eliminates the need for a private IP subnet between the WAN and your router. Configure the WAN adapter for DHCP. The LAN side adapter shold be configured as a static IP address like 192.168.1.1 and configure a DHCP server for your subnet.

Next you need to configure NAT and iptables. I am unfamiliar with SME but since it is based upon Redhat I assume that any of the NAT router RHEL/CentOS howtos should provide some help.
