Significant virtual memory paging was detected

From time to time, I do see the message from my tools and it said "Significant virtual memory paging was detected on the host operating system", the question is:

1. is it b/c the server is low on physical RAM so it has to use swap page? if so, it doesn't make any sense b/c I have plenty available RAM on the server that had not been used.
2. is it b/c SWAP size is bit small?
3. If none of the above, then what does the message really mean?

thanks,

A message like that would imply #1.

What OS / version? How much RAM is installed? And what "tools" are you referring to (that throw up that message)?

I agree with your first impression; the error message sounds bogus.

I'd hit up various Oracle forums and/or their commercial support.
