Setting up domain

So I got myself a VPS and I have full control over it. I have a domain and I would like to point it to my VPS. I'm not sure how to do this, do I have to setup nameservers or the sort?

to get better and clear with your help
tell away the domain and the ip server you want place/put/host it , its easy for other people to figure out how help, the only thing do not give the password

just tip, if your domain manage by isp then ask them to point "A" record
to the new server ip_addr
