To access your registry, rdesktop to your Windows box should do the trick.
To get the Windows computer to access the Samba shares, check out SWAT or, depending on the distro you're using, you can probably use one of the setup utilities to make them available without manually editing /etc/samba/smb.conf.
Or, you could learn how to do that yourself. It's really not so hard for a simple home-lan system without security concerns.
