Hi all,
I seem to be having an issue with my quota system, being that it is reporting incorrect values using the repquota command, as such, I can not accurately define user quotas. Seen below, reported space and file usage does not match what is seen with my own checks using 'du -sh' and 'ls -alR
[target] | wc -l'
Code:
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] sudo repquota -s /home
*** Report for user quotas on device /dev/md3
Block grace time: 7days; Inode grace time: 7days
Space limits File limits
User used soft hard grace used soft hard grace

griever92 -- 1289G 0K 0K 13084 0 0
dcbrand -- 87693M 0K 0K 11397 0 0
awarwick -- 3740K 0K 0K 18 0 0
xnakashoji -- 16K 0K 0K 4 0 0
freeleech -- 3260K 0K 0K 803 0 0
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] du -sh /home/griever92/
1.4T /home/griever92/
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] ls -alR griever92/ | wc -l
28874
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] du -sh /home/dcbrand/
86G /home/dcbrand/
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] ls -alR dcbrand/ | wc -l
15500
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] du -sh /home/awarwick/
85G /home/awarwick/
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] ls -alR awarwick/ | wc -l
12986
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] du -sh /home/xnakashoji/
16K /home/xnakashoji/
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] ls -alR xnakashoji/ | wc -l
7
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] du -sh /home/freeleech/
85G /home/freeleech/
[grievesrv :: griever92 /home] ls -alR freeleech/ | wc -l
12946
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find much in the way of a solution for this, so I was hoping someone here might have an idea or two.
Also, would anyone be aware of a way to exclude 'links' from being calculated in the quotas and disk usage?
As an example, user 'freeleech' is simply a file repository. Users awarwick, dcbrand and griever92 are members of the 'freeleech' group, and as such, have access to said repository.
These files, which are physically located within the freeleech home folder, are copied/linked to each of these users' home folders (cp -al
[source] [target] )
Alternatively, if this is not possible, I could always point these users directly into the freeleech home directory, but i'd like to avoid that and isolate them to their own obviously.
[EDIT]
Well, now quotas are working properly, not sure what changed, but i'll take it.
