Power scheduling CentOS 6 server (how to?)

Hi
I am using CentOS 6.4 server for static pages. And I would like to schedule the power of the server. I have managed to schedule POWER OFF by following command

Code:
00 02 * * 0-6 /sbin/shutdown -h now
But I am not able to power up the machine with this RTC alarm command

Code:
00 01 * * * /sbin/hwclock --alarm 360
Can anyone help me please?

My PC Config is as follows: i7 3770k processor, Gigabyte GA-Z77N motherboard, 4GB ram

A quick google search shows that some bios's clear the alarm if there is any change to the RTC after the alarm is set.

CentOS writes back to the RTC as part of the shutdown procedure. - /etc/init.d/halt

You could try commenting out the "Syncing hardware clock to system time" in the halt script.

I assume you've checked that your BIOS does support Wake On Alarm etc.

I am not aware --alarm is a valid option.
