php in Apache server

I am building a apache server in rhel 6,i make two pages
1. index.html
2. index2.php

actually i am making a form in html and want to redirect the output of form in index.html via index2.php , in html form i write <form action ="index2.php" method="post" />

but when i run the apache server and open the site in firefox it is not able to compile index2.php , due to which i am not able to get output of the form that i have made in index.html...

is there any way to compile index2.php
please help

Hi,

Can you please tell us what you mean by not being able to compile index2.php?

DO you get any errors?

Please provide as much details as possible

Might be a trivial, but I would do a quick check to see if PHP is actually installed.
If it is, make sure in your conf files for apache DirectoryIndex index.php is there.
