Installed GLPI now working on getting OCSng up and communicating with GLPI. When I attempt to get to OCS I get the following message, :ERROR: MySQL for PHP is not properly installed.
Try installing MySQL for php package (Debian: php5-mysql)"
Not sure how to overcome this as I"ve had many issues with PHP5 trying to get OCSng(and GLPI) to work.
Any suggestions?
what version of PHP are you currently using? If you go to PHP7, you'd have to use php-mysqli or php-pdo since php-mysql was removed for various reasons such as it's inability to handle prepared statements. Not familiar with OCSng but the only remaining supported version of PHP5 is PHP5.6 which is already out of active support: http://php.net/supported-versions.php
Anything still using PHP5 should be looking to migrate to PHP7 which means going from php-mysql to php-mysqli or php-pdo.
I'm running PHP7. I did try using PHP 5 a week ago. I couldn't get GLPI up and running with PHP5 though. Noted in blogs that version 5 was not workable with the newest OCSng, V2.3
My mentor, a former VP where I used to work described setting up GLPI and OCSng as "cat herding"
This is on Ubuntu Server 16.04. I'm thinking maybe Cent OS would be more forgiving? Thoughts?
I"m also going to experiment with Fusion if I can't find a workable solution with OCSng.
do they need to work together or just work? I mean if they both just need to work on the same server and not necessarily together then running PHP as a CGI may work, thinking mainly PHP-FPM. Run an instance of PHP-FPM for PHP7.0+ and another instance for PHP5.6
