Permissions a Question of Math
Can someone please explain in a simple way this conundrum.
vsftpd in the parameter local_mask used a 3 or 4 digit number that sets the file permissions. The hight the file permission is eg. 0010 gives me file permission of 666 what is the calculation behind this and how do I work it out such as wanting files to have 777.
