Hi,
Still saying---- "Error: Partition(s) 1 on /dev/sdd have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes."
Please kindly post a relevant resolution in this regard.
Note: Posting to an old thread already marked "SOLVED" greatly decreases your chances of getting a response.
Post the output from "lsblk -f /dev/sdd". In order to reload the partition table, you cannot have any mounted filesystems, unlocked LUKS containers, or active LVM volumes on the drive.
After partprobe command used, below warning msgs always...
Warning: WARNING: the kernel failed to re-read the partition table on /dev/sda (Device or resource busy). As a result, it may not reflect all of your changes until after reboot.

I think you made a typo there. Previous discussion as been about /dev/sdd.
In order to reload the partition table you will need to unmount /share/backup and deactivate the fileshare-backup logical volume.
Hi,
Sorry for my typo. Actually that has been copied and wrongly chosen the first line.
Issue was within /dev/sdd3 which I've already notified in the previous post.
It could not be done without a restart so I did.
