Grub errors...grub errors...grub errors

I have seen a lot of threads with multiple grub errors whe ppl are trying to dual boot on a single hd. I had the same issue, I'm a noobie, and this is what I tried that fixed it.

I removed linux and formatted the drive
I loaded windows and all drivers for nic card, audio, and vid card
I installed Linux and chose Lilo and not Grub
I activated something and didn't over wright anything

And the second time I tried this it worked fine.

Maybe this will help someone

there seems to be a lot of general confusion over MBR. aka master boot records. becasuse of the way grub works, if you delete the linux data that created the menu, it won't work. in this event you will have to put something else in the MBR. using lilo, grub again or the windoze boot loader. If you delete your linux with grub make sure to install something else or no joy..........
